Presale Gold Detail – Helsal Court, Coomera QLD

MOBILE CAR CLEANING GOLD COAST – HELSAL COURT COOMERA

I was contacted by the owner of a Toyota Land Cruiser in Coomera. He was wanting his vehicle prepared for sale and requested a Gold Package Detail.

The vehicle had been owned by the client for several years and was predominantly used for towing the family caravan. Many of the trips made were to Central Australia. So a particular issue was the reddish stain on the body work, aluminium bumper bars and alloy wheels caused by red dust. The dust had also traveled inside the vehicle through the air conditioner vents. I used an alkaline product on the wheels and underneath the wheel arches to soak into the dust stain. This product must be applied carefully on the bodywork so that you don’t cause run marks on the paintwork. I then used a pressure sprayer to blast off the red dust and stains. Overall, I would say that I accomplished an 85% success rate with cleaning and removing the stains. Unfortunately, the longer stains like this are left on a vehicle surface, the harder it is to remove. The paintwork cleaned up very well too!

The interior was also quite soiled with dust and grime. However, the use of a diluted orange oil based product removed most of the soiling out of the carpet and seat fabric. Then the vinyl was treated to refresh the door trims and dash with the added benefit of UV protection. Finally, the exterior was hand polished with a Carnauba Wax that also helps to provide paintwork protection against the UV rays of the sun. Overall, the vehicle came up brilliantly in preparation for sale, The owner in Helsal Court Coomera was delighted with the end result and was able to advertise it that same day. He is also recommending Mango Kar Dynamix  to his neighbour!

The MKD Do It Yourself Water Bead Test

Here’s a challenge for those of you who think that the paint work on their vehicle is okay! Have a look at other cars around you and perform a Do It Yourself Water Bead Test while it’s raining. See if there are beads of water rolling off the other cars or not. If it is, then there is a film of wax and polish protecting the paintwork. If not, then the paintwork is deteriorating from being constantly exposed to all of harsh elements found here on the Gold Coast. These elements include the sun’s ultra violet light, salt from the beach, bird droppings, dust and road grime. The list goes on and on. And all of these elements are eating into the paintwork causing irreversable damage if not attended.

Being a Gold Coast Mobile Car Detailing service, I see first-hand the contaminant and UV damage caused to neglected vehicles! Are you still in the rain? Now have a look at your car! Are there beads of water rolling off the bonnet? If the answer is yes, that’s great! But if the water won’t bead or is only beading in some places, you’ve got problems. The length of time you have neglected your vehicles paintwork will be relative to the amount of damage already caused. So let’s clarify something here. You are not alone! The majority of car owners don’t pause to consider whether their car needs a polish or not. And here on the Gold Coast, most vehicles are parked outside in the hot sun and general weather for hours at a time. So what’s the simple and cost effective answer?

Mango Kar Dynamix, Your Premium Gold Coast Mobile Car Detailing Service has a GOLD Detailing Package that includes polishing the vehicle. As long as the paintwork is still in good condition, we can polish your vehicle after giving it a good wash, clean, UV treatment and vacuum. That works out to only $60.00 for a small car. This is what the water bead test identifies! So having invested in your vehicle, how about considering the relatively small cost of maintaining every few months or so. It can also mean getting maximum dollar when you decide to sell it or trade it in one day.

So give your preferred Gold Coast Mobile Car Detailing service a call today.

Achieving Top Dollar When Selling The Car

There is no doubt about it! If you want  to achieve top dollar when selling the car,  it needs to be presented in the best condition possible to a potential buyer. Buyers are generally fussy when it comes to making a financial investment in a vehicle. Even though the vehicle may be second hand, it is still “new” to the new owner. So don’t be deluded about how much notice a buyer will notice the tiniest of defects and evidence of general wear and tear. Here on the Gold Coast, our lifestyle presents common soiling to the interior of a car. Salt and sand on seats and carpet are typical if you are a beach lover. For young families, spilled drinks and food leave their mark for all to see. Busy professionals and trades people who use their car daily for work tend to spill their coffee on the seats, carpet and in the consul. Can you see the picture I’m presenting?

This week, MKD – Mobile Car Detailing Gold Coast detailed the interior of a Toyota Corolla that the owner was putting on the market immediately. The owner’s father said to me when I arrived that he couldn’t understand why I was there cleaning the car. At a glance, this vehicle looked quite neat. However, a closer look revealed stains on the carpet and fabric on the seats. There was also makeup and soiling all over the steering wheel, controls and gear shift, plus the interior glass was cloudy with grime. To get the interior looking nice and fresh again, I started off by thoroughly vacuuming the carpet, mats and seats. Then I cleaned all of the grime of all the door trims, dash and consul. Next was the UV treatment to all of the interior vinyl, cleaning the interior glass and shampooing the fabric seats and loop pile carpet. Lastly, I deodorised the whole interior.

The end result was a beautiful, clean and fresh looking car. But important for the owner was that he could now see himself achieving top dollar when selling the car. Even his father couldn’t get over the difference. The lesson here is don’t underestimate how a relatively small amount of money spent in preparing your car for sale can make a big difference. It can potentially result in you getting hundreds of dollars more than you first thought. So if you are wanting to prepare your car for sale and intend on achieving top dollar for your car, contact MKD – Mobile Ca Detailng Gold Coast for a quote and let us help you to achieve getting top dollar for your car!

The Difficulty of Detailing a Car in Hot Weather

hot-sun
As a Gold Coast Mobile Car Detailing service, I don’t like to make unrealistic promises to customers about how their car will turn out in hot weather. So it’s wise for me to let customers know about potential difficulties due to the temperature of the day. One problem I want to talk about as we move towards summer is how hot weather affects the products we use. I can detail a car in the direct sun, but the end result may not be as good as hoped for. Here are some of the problems you may encounter when detailing your car during the summer months. Polishing a car is very difficult to do when the body work is hot. The polish will dry too quickly and then be difficult to remove off the paintwork. The same thing happens when cleaning the windows too because the product can leave a smear as you apply it. Hot weather causes the window cleaner to dry too quickly before you have a chance to buff it off with a soft cloth.
In contrast, detailing a car in the shade is absolutely ideal. It’s even better when there is a lovely cool breeze blowing. Polishing the car will end up being very easy. Even in hot weather! The polish will work easily over the car and then you’ll be able to wipe it off with very little effort. The same excellent result will be achieved when cleaning the windows too. So it’s helpful for anyone to be aware of how hot weather can affect the effort needed to do the best job possible. This is another reason why I like ti discuss things with the customer before proceeding on with the work. It may mean having to walk away from a job before I start. But I think it’s better that Mango Kar Dynamix – Mobile Car Detailing Gold Coast has a great reputation with customers for honesty. It’s part of the service we provide…being truthful!

Why Are You Neglecting Your Car?

When does neglecting your car start to cost you more money? Depending on where you live in Australia, weather conditions can be be either harsh or friendly. This has a direct impact on your car. If the conditions where you live are harsh, this will impact both the outside and inside of your car. One day you will notice the damage, but by then it may be too late. So then, why are you neglecting your car?

13411810_1097517846953514_4828280509815259146_o

Here is a true story about 2 of my customers. They both have the same model Holden. One is blue and the other green. The owner of the blue one loves his car and doesn’t want it to get badly soiled. So he has it washed an attended to regularly every two weeks. For only $40.00, the car receives a thorough wash, windows cleaned, tyres and wheels cleaned, and the interior is vacuumed. It is also polished with a UV protectant polish and the interior with UV protectant products every few months. The result is that this particular car is always in immaculate condition.

In contrast, the owner of the green one started to find excuses to avoid having his car washed regularly. He now only asks me to clean the car every now and then on the off chance that he sees me in the area. So what is gradually happening to this ute? Firstly, the mag wheels are tarnished and rusting. UV damage from extreme sunlight has already blistered the paintwork. The vinyl cover on the rear of the car has hardened and is starting to crack and fade, and the plastic accessories around the vehicle are deteriorating fast. And very noticeably, the headlamps are going yellow and milky. All of this damage has occurred within an 18 month period, but could have been avoided. This is a perfect example of a person who is neglecting their car. Is that you too?

A Good First Impression Says Heaps

clean-car-next-to-dirty-carWhether we like it or not, many people do “judge a book by its cover”. This is that first impression. So what first impression do potential clients have of you and your business when they see you for the first time?

Consider this scenario. Someone has contacted you about your services and you have made an appointment to see them at their home. Whether you are a business person, professional or tradesman, quite often the first thing people will see when you arrive for that appointment is the car you arrive in. Does it look clean and presentable in a way that gives clients a confidence about what they can expect from your services?

MKD has a fortnightly client who is a real estate agent. He takes his business and presentation very seriously and was mindful about how his 10 year old Honda Civic compared to a nice shiny Mercedes or BMW. Once we started regularly detailing his car, the condition inside and out continued to improve. Potential clients were clearly seeing the complete professional package, and in a relatively short period of time, he has become one of the most successful agents on the Gold Coast. Recently the Honda was replaced by a brand new car that I have the pleasure of looking after.

Now compare this to the agent who presents a different first impression. Their car hasn’t been washed for weeks or months, has empty drink bottles on the floor, spilled coffee on the consul, fries that have fallen under the seat, and a smell that confirms all of this! Basically, the vehicle has become a mobile office. This first impression say heaps to potential clients about you as a person, your business and your professionalism…and would you really want others to ride in a car with you in that type of condition?

So why shouldn’t you have your car detailed on a fortnightly or monthly basis? We’ll come to your home or workplace…plus it’s a tax deduction for businesses! There will always be the usual running costs associated with a car, but why have one in a condition that is potentially costing you income?

Having Your Car Feel Good Again

As weird as this may sound, there is a difference between having your car detailed to make it look good again, as opposed making it feel good again!

Most of the time, our vehicles get soiled over a period of time and we don’t tend to notice it. Drinks get spilled in the interior of the car, finger marks appear on windows and fries end up under the seats (double that if you have young children). Plus sunscreen and makeup gradually builds up on the steering wheel, door trims and other controls. Even the smell of the car has changed. On the exterior you will see the result of bird droppings, tree sap, mud and road grime, plus hand marks on both the paintwork and glass. All of these examples are the signs of subtle deterioration of your vehicle. If left unattended for long periods of time, this will leave permanent marks on seats, carpet and paintwork etc.

When clients use the services of Mango Kar Dynamix, they often say that their car looks “sparkly” again. The interior smells fresh, the glass is clean, the dash is looking newer and that the controls are clean. So they actually revisit that place and time when they first bought the vehicle and remember how the car did actually feel good to drive.

Having your vehicle detailed and cleaned on a regular basis (such as monthly) can quite often see the overall condition improve each time. For example, difficult stains may not be easily removed out of carpet or seat fabric the first time, but after a few visits, things may start to look noticeably improved, and often does. The same can be said for the exterior of the car. Giving it attention over a period of time can see noticeable improvement to the paintwork and plastic accessories. Maybe we can’t get back to original condition due to UV damage and bad weathering, but overall we are having some kind of success.

So that being said, do you think you’d feel good having that nice smelling, clean and sparkly car to drive again?

The Ideal Way To Polish Your Car

At Mango Kar Dynamix, our “Gold Detailing Package” includes a car polish and wax! So the first question asked of clients before commencing the job is, “Do you have a shaded area for the vehicle to be parked under?” Almost 50% of the time, the answer is “no”!  So now we face a challenge. Good quality car cleaning and detailing products that you can purchase from an auto store will have written information about the “Directions for Use”. So take time to read the bottle before purchasing the product because you should find written Use product in a cool and shaded area, or, Use on cool surface!

When glass is hot, it can be very frustrating trying to clean windows because the glass cleaner evaporates so quickly. In direct sunlight, the same problem happens with  hot paintwork. When you wipe the polish over the car, it will immediately start to dry. Your polishing rag or application pad will grip and drag across the bodywork as if you have suddenly put the brakes on. So now the polish has become ineffective and can’t add a protective coating to the paintwork! And it will be just as difficult removing the polish off the paintwork.

bowdens-auto-body-wax

The ideal conditions for an effective car polish is to do it in the shade, and preferably when the temperature of the day has dropped. It’s not always possible to have both of those ideal conditions, but having at least one of those will assist you greatly. And that is the same for us too when detailing after a client’s car. Our goal is to provide a vehicle with adequate protection from the various harsh weather elements found here on the Gold Coast! Keep in mind too that the actual condition of the paintwork on your car will determine the end result. In cases where sun and weather damage has affected the paintwork, you will need to apply a cutting compound before you use the polish.

Cleaning Stained Headlining

Cleaning stained headlining inside a vehicle can be a challenge because it’s more than likely that we won’t know how it got there. There are many causes for soiling an area of your car that you wouldn’t expect, but it happens!

For example, “lift handles” that are located just inside at the top of the door jam attract the dirt off your hands and your knuckles will rub against the headlining fabric. If you have young kids, drops of soft drinks, cordials and fruit juices will magically appear on the head lining….kids are kids! Adults too are responsible for marking head lining….particularly in SUV’s where bicycles or sets of golf clubs are put in the back. The black rubber off bicycle tyres is often smudged on the top edge of the rear opening.

So how successful is it cleaning stained headlining?? This can depend on 2 main things….how long the stain has been there, and the quality of the fabric depending on the make of car. Water-based stains such as juices and soft drinks are definitely easier to clean off headlining than a stain that has an oily or petroleum base e.g. rubber, certain plastics etc. A water based cleaner won’t  always remove an oil based stain, and visa versa! So identifying the type of stain is very helpful. Our biggest concern can be whether we’ll make the stain worse than it was before. I recommend testing a small area first. If the stain isn’t disappearing, then you may need to use another type of cleaner. So “trial and error” is often required. Whatever the stain may be, rather than rub the fabric hard, see if you can draw it out of the fabric by spraying a pad or micro fibre  cloth and dabbing it on the stain. This may take a little longer than you hoped, but in the end the effort and care you take in cleaning your stained headlining could be well worth it!

“THE GOLD COAST WET SEASON”

Now that we are moving into the wet season, it’s easy to think that it’s a waste of time having your car washed and/or detailed. But this really isn’t the case!

No matter what you may want to believe, rain does not successfully wash your car! It may rinse off some of the road grime and dissolve tree sap or bird droppings, but that’s about all. Over time, if left on for a long period of time, contaminants eat into the vehicle’s paintwork and exterior plastics. Nor does rain prevent UV damage from the sun on your vehicles surface. This is why over time the shine is gone and replaced by a dull appearance. As for the interior,  you will notice a build-up of extra mud and sand that gets brought into the vehicle. Sand in particular will work its way deep into carpet and seat fabric. When this occurs, the harder it becomes to successfully remove.

At Mango Kar Dynamix, we offer various cleaning and detailing Packages that will meet your needs. These start from a basic Wash and Vacuum to a more extensive Platinum Package. If your vehicle is still in very good condition, then our very popular Gold Package will do a thorough job. This includes a wax and polish that gives extra UV protection on the paintwork and some plastics. We can also attend to the interior of your car by applying a product that gives UV protection to the dash and all other interior plastics and vinyl. And now we can also offer customers out “Water-less Wash”. This is ideal when it is still raining but the car can be placed under cover. This gives us the opportunity to remove the build up of road grime and other external contaminants such as tree sap and bird droppings.

For more information on how to care for your car during the Wet Season, Call Peter at Mango Kar Dynamix  on 0429 430 443.
